Tax Incentives for Foreign Investors

Foreign investors will receive tax breaks under the sixth five-year development plan (2016-21), IRNA quoted the Iranian National Tax Administration’s head of human resources, Nader Jannati, as saying. Iranian officials are unanimous in acknowledging the importance of attracting foreign investment to reach the annual 8% growth target as envisioned in the sixth plan. According to President Hassan Rouhani, Iran needs foreign investments worth $30 billion to $50 billion to achieve the ambitious target. The plan was submitted by the president to the parliament last month. The ratification has been pushed back until after the new Iranian year (to start March 20).
