South Khorasan Province has exported 2,000 tons of frozen chicken to Afghanistan in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2015), registering an 80% rise compared to the previous year. Alireza Rafieipour, the head of the province’s Veterinary Organization, referred to high production cost as one of the biggest barriers to chicken exports to the neighboring country. Afghanistan, sharing long borders with the eastern Iran province, is one of the main export destinations of Iranian products, Mehr News Agency reported.
