Not only is Tehran Province self-sufficient in the production of apples, cherries, nectarines, peaches and pistachios, part of the surplus yield is exported to other countries, according to the head of Tehran Agricultural Jihad Organization, Ali Ashraf Mansouri. “More than 500,000 tons of these fruits are annually produced in Tehran, 20% of which are exported,” IRNA quoted the official as saying.
