Plans are underway to establish a direct flight route between Qeshm Island—off the southern coast of Iran—and Oman’s capital city of Muscat, says managing director of Qeshm Airlines. “The new route will open as soon as new planes join the airline,” Mahmoud Shekarabi was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency. Qeshm Airlines was founded in 1993 and currently operates scheduled passenger services between Qeshm and other cities, including Tehran, in addition to the UAE, Mehr News Agency reported.
