Iran exported more than 1,000 tons of seafood to Russia during the eight months ending Jan. 20, according to Iran Fisheries Organization. “Russia could be the biggest market for Iran’s seafood,” IRNA quoted the head of the organization, Hassan Salehi, as saying on Monday. Salehi noted that during this period, some 15 delegations of Iranian seafood traders have travelled to Russia with the aim of promoting exports, while 10 Russian missions have visited Iran to survey the country’s production firms. According to Iran Veterinary Organization, 19 Iranian seafood companies have been granted export permits by Russia over the past year.
