    Dutch Exports to Iran Grew 21% in 2015

    Dutch exports to Iran increased by 21% in 2015, ahead of the lifting of sanctions in January this year. The value of exports reached €450 million, placing Iran 64th in the ranking order of destinations. Medical equipment made up more than one-third of all exports, Dutch News cited data provided by Statistics Netherlands otherwise known as CBS. In 2011, as the US and European Union trade embargo was being phased in, Dutch companies exported €600 million worth of goods to Iran. Before 2010, Iran was one of the main suppliers of oil to the Netherlands, selling €944 million worth in 2009, but all imports were suspended in 2012.
