Tehran’s trade exchange with Vienna is expected to grow up to 10 percent by the end of 2014, deputy trade commissioner from the Austrian embassy told IRNA on Tuesday, saying that the number stood at €225 million in 2013. “Pharmaceuticals account for nearly half of Austria’s exports to Iran,” Georg Weingartner said. Iran-Austria trade grew 15 percent in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21-September 22) compared to the same period last year, Weingartner added, pointing to the balanced trade between the countries before 2010 – when US-led sanctions against Tehran over its nuclear program first came into effect.
