One of the key achievements of the government in the agricultural sector has been the export of 332,000 tons of chicken and eggs over the past two years for the first time in Iran’s history, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. In 2013, when President Hassan Rouhani took office, the volume of Iran’s agricultural products hovered around 97 million tons, whereas the figure registered for the current Iranian year (to end March 19, 2016) stands at 112 million tons, the ministry added.
