Iran and Lebanon are preparing to expand economic relations in different areas, including industries, mining, energy, investment, banking and finance, reads a joint statement made by Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi and the visiting Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Alain Hakim at the conclusion of the Seventh Iran-Lebanon Economic Cooperation Commission on Tuesday.  Referring to the memoranda of understanding signed by the two sides, the Iranian minister said Tehran and Beirut have agreed to provide traders with export credit cover. Lebanon’s Minister of Industry Hussein Al-Hajj Hassan has also called for expansion of ties with Iran, particularly in the industrial sector.  “A large delegation of my country’s industrialists and traders will visit Tehran in the not-too-distant future to explore areas of economic cooperation,” IRNA quoted Hassan as saying in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador in Beirut Mohammad Fathali.
