    SCI: Monthly Rural Inflation Down 0.5%

    The goods and services Consumer Price Index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending January 20, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Dey, reached 11.5% compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to the Statistical Center of Iran’s latest report. The center had reported a 12% rural inflation for the preceding Iranian month. The overall rural CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 232.5 in Dey, indicating a 0.6% growth compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 8.4% compared with last year’s similar month. Urban inflation for the month of Dey (ended January 20) was earlier put at 12.2% by SCI.
