Unemployment, Iran’s Key Problem

Mohammad Shariatmadari, vice president for executive affairs, said the most important problem facing the country is unemployment.  “No change has been observed in the state of job creation during the past 10 years despite the fact that the country enjoyed a massive inflow of oil revenues,” Mehr News Agency quoted Shariatmadari as saying.  According to the latest figures released by the Statistical Center of Iran, the unemployment rate in the third quarter of the current Iranian year (September 23-December 21) stood at 10.7%.
