The goods and services Consumer Price Index for urban areas increased to 13.2% in the 12-month period ending January 20, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Dey, compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to the latest report of the Central Bank of Iran.  The CBI had reported a 13.7% inflation rate for the preceding month of Azar (ended December 21).

The overall CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 232.6 in Dey, indicating a 0.4% growth compared with the previous month.  A year-on-year increase of 9.6% was registered in the index compared with the similar month of last year. Earlier, the Statistical Center of Iran put the inflation rate for Dey at 12.2%.
