A 25% increase in revenues from seafood exports is within reach, now that European countries plan to resume their purchases from Iran, says an official with Iran’s Fisheries Organization.  Issa Golshahi added that Italy, Spain, France and Germany are willing to import Iran’s shrimp, trout, caviar, tuna and lobster. “In fact, European countries have never blocked Iran’s seafood products from their markets even under sanctions, but problems associated with banking exchanges hit Iran’s exports,” ISNA quoted Golshahi as saying. Last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2015) exports of seafood reached $304 million, while imports stood at $198 million.
