Secretary-General of Iran-Turkey Council Seyyed Jalal Ebrahimi believes recent developments in the region will have no impact on economic ties between the two countries. “Although Iran and Turkey are at odds over Syria, their disagreements have never spilled over into their economic relations,” Ebrahimi was quoted as saying by ISNA. “Every day, around 500 Turkish trucks pass through Iran to Central Asian countries. Iran is Turkey’s gateway to Persian Gulf littoral states and the UAE. Therefore, the neighboring country cannot afford to lose its relations with Iran,” he added.
