Forty companies applied to launch domestic airlines over the past 10 months, of which only four had the minimum required capital and were qualified by the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, says Mohammad Khodakarami, the deputy head of the organization. The government plans to provide airlines with loans for purchasing new aircraft. According to Khodakarami, existing airlines enjoy priority for receiving such facilities, ISNA reported.
