The country’s total medicine imports via flights in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21- September 22, 2014) registered 22.8 percent growth compared to the same period last year, the head of Imam Khomeini International Airport’ customs office, Gholamreza Fatehi told ISNA on Saturday. “About 19 million kilos of medicine worth more than $2.4 billion have been imported by airplanes in this period, while the amount stood at 19 million kilos valued at $1.9 billion in the same period last year,” Fatehi announced. According to the official, medicine is mainly imported from India, Holland, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
