SCI: Rural Inflation at 12%

The goods and services Consumer Price Index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending December 21, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Azar, increased by 12% compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to the latest report of the Statistical Center of Iran.  The center had reported a 12.5% rural inflation for the preceding month (ended November 21).  The overall rural CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 231 in Azar, indicating a 1.6% growth compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 8.4% compared with last year’s similar month. Urban inflation for the month of Azar (ended December 21) was earlier put at 12.6% by SCI.
