Ardabil has exported 98,000 tons of potatoes in the current Iranian year (started March 21), according to the northwestern province’s Agricultural Jihad Organization. Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Turkmenistan were the main export destinations, together accounting for 38.5% of Iran’s potato exports. Agricultural Jihad Ministry earlier announced it has allocated subsidies to potato exporters to help expand export markets and protect domestic production.
