Economic cooperation with Iran’s East Azarbaijan Province is on top of Azerbaijan Republic’s agenda, said the visiting Azeri Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev during the second leg of his Iran visit to Tabriz on Tuesday.  “Baku is ready for bilateral cooperation with Tabriz in the sectors of industry, health and pharmaceuticals, and believes that development of communication infrastructures is key to that end,” Mehr News Agency quoted the minister as saying. “The Iranian government is willing to strengthen its relations with Azerbaijan Republic through Tabriz,” said the provincial governor of East Azarbaijan Province, Esmaeil Jabbarzadeh. Jabbarzadeh noted that thanks to their commonalities, it would be easier for the neighboring country’s traders to conduct their businesses here than in other Iranian cities. “East Azarbaijan’s business owners are all set to have mutual exchanges with Azeri investors and the private sector,” he said. “Farmers of the northwestern Iranian province can provide agricultural products needed by the Azerbaijan Republic.” Mustafayev and his accompanying 100-member delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday for the 10th session of Iran-Azerbaijan Economic Commission jointly hosted by Tehran and Tabriz on December 21 and 22.
