The goods and services Consumer Price Index for urban areas increased by 12.6% in the 12-month period ending December 21, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Azar, compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to the latest report by the Statistical Center of Iran. The SCI put the preceding month’s inflation rate at 13.1%. The overall consumers price index (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 222.6 in the month, indicating a 1.2% growth compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 9.9% compared with the same month of last year.
