    Iran, World’s Top Trout Producer

    The annual production of 140,000 tons of trout has made Iran the world’s biggest producer of this freshwater fish, says an official with Iran Fisheries Organization, Mohammad Afrasiabi. Around 370,000 tons of aquatics are produced in the country’s freshwaters and every year sees the exports of 60,000 tons of warm water fish, particularly to the neighboring countries, IRNA quoted Afrasiabi as saying.
