More than $1.8 million worth of stones were exported from Lorestan to Germany, Turkey, China, Greece, Romania, the UAE and Iraq during the seven months ending October 22, indicating a more than 250% surge compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to the western Iranian province’s Industries, Mining and Trade Organization. Lorestan’s stone production accounts for 27% of domestic production and 3% of world output, Mehr News Agency cited data provided by the organization.
