With the cooperation of private sector, a working group has been formed with a mandate to prepare a strategic paper for the textile industry, says the director general of Textile, Apparel and Leather Industry Organization in the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade, Golnar Nasrollahi. “For years, people believed that keeping up with fashion was synonymous with westoxification and consumerism, but now the ministry is seeking to tap into fashion design to advance textile industry and direct the production sector toward offering quality goods with higher added value and textiles of natural fiber,” IRNA quoted Nasrollahi as saying.
