About 130,000 tons of kiwis worth more than $100 million are exported annually, according to the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad. Close to 300,000 tons of kiwis are produced from 11,000 hectares of kiwi farms in Mazandaran, Gilan and Golestan provinces. Iran is the fourth largest producer of kiwi in the world after Italy, New Zealand and Australia, Forsat-e Emrooz daily reported.
