At least 2.2 million tons of citrus fruit will be produced in Mazandaran in the current Iranian year (to end March 19, 2016)–50% more than last year’s output, Mehr News Agency quoted the northern province’s Governor General Rabi Fallah as saying. With 113,000 hectares of orchards, Mazandaran accounts for 50% of Iran’s annual citrus fruit production.
