The goods and services Consumer Price Index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending November 21, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Aban, increased by 12.5% compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to the latest report by the Statistical Center of Iran. Urban inflation for the month of Aban (ended November 21) was earlier put at 13.1% by SCI. The center had reported a 12.7% rural inflation for the preceding month (ended October 22). The overall rural CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 227.3 in Aban, indicating a 0.1% growth compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 9% compared with last year’s similar month.
