Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture is taking preliminary measures for establishing a statistical center, says the head of ICCIMA’s Trade and Exports Enhancement Commission, Mohsen Bahrami. “As we speak, the center gathers statistical data by conducting field research and opinion polls from economic players and members of ICCIMA, but it is yet to turn into an independent statistical institution,” ISNA quoted him as saying.
Currently two government bodies, namely the Statistical Center of Iran–affiliated to the Management and Planning Organization–and the Central Bank of Iran, are in charge of releasing statistical data, including those on the economy and demographic trends.
