Foreign nationals will soon be able to open bank accounts in Iran from abroad. The government is easing regulations for opening bank accounts for foreign nationals to increase investment in Iran, SENA reported. “The Central Bank of Iran is finalizing the procedure for opening accounts for foreigners, so that this group of investors can easily open bank accounts without having to travel to Iran,” said deputy head of Securities and Exchange Organization, Bahador Bijani, on Sunday. This is part of SEO’s pitch to involve foreign investors in Iran’s capital markets in the new economic climate after the prospective lifting of sanctions. Money managers are increasingly visiting Iran and assessing the country’s investment prospects and risks.
