  Shahid Bahonar

More than 1.22 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Shahid Bahonar Port, Hormozgan Province, during the seven-month period ending October 22, 2015.

Over 957,000 tons of the throughput was non-oil commodities, up 5% compared to last year’s similar period, while 262,000 tons were oil and oil-related products, showing a 10% increase, according to the Ports and Maritime Bureau of the southern port. Shahid Bahonar accounts for 5% of Iran’s total freight transit.

  Qeshm

Close to 4.1 million tons of goods were handled by Qeshm Island’s ports during the seven-month period ending October 22, some 98% of which were non-oil commodities, according to the Ports and Maritime Bureau of Qeshm.

Qeshm is the biggest Persian Gulf island located a few kilometers from the port city of Bandar Abbas, the provincial capital of Hormozgan, Mehr News Agency reported.

  Kish

Some 1.4 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Kish, located in the Persian Gulf, during the seven-month period ending October 22, according to the Port and Naval Bureau of the southern island.

Non-oil throughput accounts for 86% of the total figure, Mehr News Agency reported.

The 91.5-square-kilometer resort island was ranked among the world›s 10 most beautiful islands by The New York Times in 2010.
