Iran’s cooperatives sector exported $1.3 billion worth of goods in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2015), said deputy minister of cooperatives, labor and social affairs, Hamid Kalantari, on Wednesday, adding that the figure can triple by increasing productivity. “Cooperatives need to raise their productivity and efficiency through investments in the education of human resources,” IRNA quoted him as saying. Kalantari also advised cooperatives to set their sights on exports by paying more attention to brand building.
