Some $150 million worth of goods were exported from Golestan mainly to Iraq–accounting for more than $60 million of the total–during the first half the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating a 5% increase compared with last year’s similar period, according to the Organization of Industries, Mining and Trade of the northern province. Other export destinations were Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, China, Kazakhstan, Italy, Pakistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Armenia, IRNA reported. Major exports from Golestan include cement, metal structures, rebar, iodine, cheese, tomato paste, poultry, animal feed and dairy.
