The president of Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce, Marat Sharshekeev, has announced that his country will seize opportunities for increasing trade ties with Iran, FNA reported from Bishkek on Monday. Underlining the importance of resuming Mashhad-Bishkek direct flight after years of interruption as well as holding Iran’s exhibitions in Kyrgyzstan, Sharshekeev also highlighted the possibility of establishing a railway between the two countries. He noted that Kyrgyzstan can take advantage of having transactions with southern Asian countries via this railway. He also announced his country’s readiness to export agricultural products to Iran and said that Kyrgyzstan is set to start negotiations with Iran on tourism cooperation. Iran and Kyrgyzstan have expanded their bilateral ties and mutual cooperation in different fields since independence of the Central Asian state in the 1990s. In a recent meeting with the new Kyrgyz Ambassador to Tehran, Asanbeyk Osman Aliyev, President Rouhani underlined the need for further expansion of Tehran-Bishkek relations.
