More than 170,000 tons of wood valued at $86.7 million were imported in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21-September 22), showing an increase of 25% in volume and 13.7% in value compared with the previous year’s corresponding period, IRNA quoted the head of the Association of Iran’s Wood Industries Employers, Abdolazim Aqajani. Lumber, he said, accounted for 97% of the imports during the period.
