A French container ship has berthed at Iran’s Bushehr Port for the first time since the conclusion of the historic nuclear deal on July 14, the general manager of Bushehr Ports and Maritime Department said. Mohammad Rastad also told IRNA on Sunday that the 157-meter container ship with a draft of 5.7 meters belongs to France’s CMA CGM Group, the third largest container company in the world. Bushehr Port, which is listed as an international port, has the capacity of handling 7 million tons of commodities on a yearly basis. “The stage is set for the return of container ships to this southern port with the removal of anti-Iran sanctions and investments secured for its expansion,” he concluded.
