Agriculture and processing industries together account for 10% of Iran’s GDP, but only less than $60 million is going to be allocated to these sectors as subsidy and facility by the government, says head of the Producers and Exporters of Industrial Bread Union. Referring to high prices in Iran, which undermine the competitiveness of domestic industries, Kaveh Zargaran called on the government to provide these sectors with more support. “In these sectors, demand is very high, but we cannot increase our exports due to obstacles, such as transportation and money transfer problems,” he was quoted as saying by ISNA.  Zargaran expressed optimism that the issues will be solved after the lifting of sanctions against Iran.
