More than 86,000 tons of fresh tea leaves worth over $40 million have been bought from farmers by the government in the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating a 30% increase in value compared with the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2015), says the head of Tea Organization of Iran, Mohammad Vali Rouzbahan.
«The increase in production and, as a result, in farmers› earnings is due to this year›s suitable weather conditions and also revival of many tea farms,» he was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency.
