Some 18,000 tons of goods worth over $14.3 billion were exported from Sarakhs Special Economic Zone, located in Khorasan Razavi Province, during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21), said the director of SEZ. Ahmad Sadeqi Golmakani added that the figures show a 30% increase in weight and 90% growth in value compared to last year’s corresponding period. The main exports were petroleum products, minerals and food products, which were primarily destined for Afghanistan, Iraq and Central Asian countries, IRNA quoted Sadeqi as saying.
