More than 450 tons of goods worth $2.1 million were exported from Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad Province to Germany, Afghanistan, Britain and the UAE during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating an 81% decrease in terms of volume and 0.7% growth in value compared to the similar period of last year, says director general of the province’s customs bureau, Behnam Ahmadi. Exports mainly included licorice extract and cosmetic products. According to the official, the main reason behind the significant drop in the volume of exports is the halt in cement exports that accounted for the bulk of the province’s exports during last year’s corresponding period.
