World’s 11th Biggest Wheat Producer

Iran has been ranked the 11th biggest producer of wheat worldwide, accounting for 14 million tons of the world’s total of 734.8 million tons forecast to be produced by the end of 2015 harvest season, according to a recent report by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The top 10 producers, according to the report, are the European Union, China, India, Russia, the United States, Canada, Pakistan, Australia, Ukraine and Turkey in a descending order. The world’s total wheat production is also forecast to increase 0.3% compared to the previous year. Iran registered the same standing in 2013 and 2014.
