About $5 billion worth of agricultural products are exported every year, says deputy minister of agriculture, Abbas Keshavarz. The official noted that the main exports include pistachios, apples, pomegranates, kiwis, dates and vegetables. According to Keshavarz, the agriculture sector’s output is about 74 million tons annually, 85% of which are domestically consumed.
