German Nordic Shipbuilding Company and Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Company signed a memorandum of understanding on future cooperation in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province, on Thursday. Mehr News Agency quoted managing director of ISOICO, Hamid Rezaeian, as saying that the MoU outlines provision of equipment, consultation and exchange of technology as areas of mutual cooperation. He stressed that by signing the MoU, ISOICO pursues a long-term objective of self-sufficiency in ship manufacturing. ISOICO is the biggest shipbuilding company in the Middle East with 30 years of experience in ship manifacturing and maintenance, besides construction of oil and gas platforms.
