Transport Deal With Kazakhstan

Iran and Kazakhstan have signed an agreement to activate a trilateral transport corridor with China to expand economic, commercial and transport cooperation. The 926-kilometer railroad was inaugurated in December last year, connecting Eurasian countries to Central Asia via Iran. It runs 80 kilometers within Iran, 700 kilometers in Turkmenistan and more than 120 kilometers in Kazakhstan. The agreement was signed in a meeting between the head of Anzali Free Trade Zone, Reza Masrour, and governor of Kazakhstan’s Mangystau region, Alik Ayderbaiev, in the city of Anzali in Mazandaran Province on Saturday, IRNA reported. The two countries have set the target of increasing bilateral trade five times the current level.
