The 15th Tehran International Industry Exhibition, the biggest industrial expo in the Middle East, opened in Tehran’s International Fairground on Monday.

A total of 477 domestic and 315 foreign companies are taking part in the event, indicating an increase of 25% and 30% respectively compared to the previous year’s data, IRNA reported.

The rise in foreign and domestic participants is mostly due to Iran’s new economic climate following the July 14 nuclear deal between Iran and the world powers. As part of the deal, sanctions on Iran’s economy are to be lifted alongside curbs on its civilian nuclear program.

Companies from Italy, France, Austria, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India, the UK, Sweden, Romania, Australia, Germany, Spain, Russia, China, the UAE, Poland and the Netherlands are showcasing their latest products, services and technologies.

Exhibits include industrial and manufacturing equipment, production lines of small and big industries, manufacturing tools, advanced industries and industrial automation, as well as technical, engineering and consultation services.

The event is also expected to play host to global business delegations, including a 200-member team of Germany’s manufacturers and industrialists, as well as trade delegations from Turkey, Taiwan and Russia.

The expo will run until October 8.
