Oilseeds and grains, particularly wheat, are among Iran’s strategic items that will be placed on a list of preferential tariffs with Ukraine, announced the Iranian head of the two countries’ joint trade council, adding that the list will be ready before the upcoming visit of the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Valiollah Afkhamirad, to Ukraine in October. Sadina Abaei also stressed the importance of bolstering trade with Ukraine and said the European country is keen on joint investment in Iran’s petrochemical sector. “To ensure the safety of investment and pave the way for the two countries to enter into one another’s markets, we intend to form joint consortiums,” Fars News Agency quoted her as saying. The current $300-million trade between Tehran and Kiev is set to rise to $1 billion in two years, she added.
