Iran’s first specialized oil, gas, petrochemical, construction, energy, water, electricity and engineering services exhibition in Azerbaijan, titled “Iran Project”, is scheduled to be held in Baku on November 11-13. More than 100 Iranian companies, mostly from oil and gas sectors, will take part in the exhibition, which is aimed at boosting Iranian goods and services exports, Hassan Mortaja, the exhibition’s organizer, told Mehr News Agency. Iran and Azerbaijan signed five memoranda of understanding to boost bilateral trade during the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Baku last year. Iran’s exports to Azerbaijan stood at $520 million last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2015). Officials from both countries have predicted an increase in bilateral trade to $2 billion next year.
