Russia has lowered customs duties on imports from Iran to 3-7% from the previous average of 27% as part of its efforts to strengthen bilateral trade ties. Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei made the announcement in a Wednesday meeting with an Iranian economic delegation from the provinces of Kurdestan, Markazi and Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, who were visiting Moscow to identify areas for trade, IRNA reported. “Moreover, Russian authorities have required permits for importing Iranian dairy products,” said the official. He encourages Iranian industrialists to benefit from the Russian government’s incentives for establishment of poultry farms in Russia, referring to southern Russia and the Caucasus region as suitable places for poultry farming and practicing Farming Beyond Borders, a project that entails renting cultivable land in other countries for growing water-intensive crops.
