During a meeting between Portugal’s Secretary of State for Food and Agri-Food Research Nuno Vieira e Brito, who was accompanied by a trade delegation, and Iran’s Minister of Agricultural Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati in Tehran on Tuesday, the two sides signed a memorandum of agreement on agricultural cooperation. “Tehran and Lisbon can cooperate not only in agriculture but also in downstream industries such as food packaging,” IRNA quoted Hojjati as saying. The Portuguese official welcomed the prospect of closer ties with Iran and said Portugal can contribute to agricultural research in Iran and provide the country with modern technologies and investments.
