Agricultural exports to Iraq are no more viable as the country’s fruit and vegetable market is already saturated, said Ilam Province’s deputy governor for coordination of economic affairs and regional development. About $550 million worth of watermelons, tomatoes, cement and construction materials were exported via Ilam’s Mehran border terminal to Iraq during the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating no change in volume or value compared to the same period of last year.
