The South African government is willing to expand mining cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the South African ambassador to Iran, Archie Whitehead, said during the 3rd annual Iran mines and mining industries exhibition on Tuesday, IRNA reported. The fair has coincided with the 5th conference on mining engineering. “The mining industry is the third largest sector in the South African economy after the agriculture and industrial manufacturing sectors,” Whitehead said. The areas for economic cooperation that will benefit the two nations will be addressed in the upcoming 12th session of South Africa–Iran Joint Commission in Tehran, he added.
