A trade conference on investment opportunities in Iran and the Caspian Sea littoral states – Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran–opens in Tehran on Saturday, announced the head of Iran-Russia Chamber of Commerce, Asadollah Asgaroladi, on Wednesday. Bilateral trade with Russia has been considerably low compared to other countries in the region, “due to lack of direct flight routes and complications regarding the issuance of long-term visas for Iranian traders,” IRNA quoted Asgaroladi as saying. The official emphasized the necessity of joint ventures by Iran and Russia and said cooperation in agriculture and agricultural machinery production “will breathe new life into the two countries’ trade relations.”
